I think I have done enough things to fill my resumé and the point of it is to get schools to be interested in you so I was thinking of adding my future goals in there, in a very brief way. I get that I would be asked about it later but I want the the high school that I’m applying to know what my goals are before interviewing me. I think it’s not the worst idea because I didn’t get to talk about my future goals in the application form so the only way to do so is through the resumé. What do you think? Should I do it? I was going to ask this on Yahoo Answers but guess how useful that would have been lol. Thanks in advance
No, but you probably don’t need to submit a resume unless they ask for one. The application form is usually enough. You can talk about your goals in essays and interviews.
They did ask for one though. Should have probably said that in my question lol. I just want to add them so I can make them more interested in me so that i can get to the interview stage, but I’m not sure if it would look professional.
@Skititles I’d leave it off - resumes typically highlight what you have done in the past.
If you wish, perhaps modify your essays/personal statement to include future goals.
Edit: accidentally double posted
Sometimes you put a goal on a resume when you are applying for a specific job, and the job matches that goal exactly. But most of the time it is more of a distraction than a help. And even for schools that allow resumes, unless it really enlightens beyond what is already in the application, it is just a bit of a headache for admissions to have to match back and forth between the application and the resume. Usually the resume is really repetitive with the app.
