Hi,
I recently asked a question about reporting AP Scores. I have another question for the self-reported Courses and Grades section on the Common App (required by USC). Should I report my elective grades (Personal Finance, Engineering, Media Presentation, Accounting). Are they necessary and would they likely be used in the calculation of a unique GPA for the school I am apply to?
Sorry, scratch the last question. On the common app it requires all courses to be reported.
Just FYI, colleges do not necessarily take the GPA reported by the school. Many will used their transcript to calculate their own GPA using the courses they care about which often won’t include electives like the ones you listed. Some will count at least one art course. Others may count them all.
@mathmom Yeah. Thank you. I was worried about putting electives as “regular” classes because they must have some algorithm for calculating gpa that includes all “regular” classes, but for electives I put N/A as the level, so it’ll probably not be used in calculations of gpa.
