Should I put this EC on my app??

<p>I have joined academic decathalon this year(my senior year), but this is the first year of the club at our school. I'm joining A.D. because I want to compete and try to win. Will college adcoms think i'm just joining an academic club to bolster my app if I put this ec on my app? If I do put this EC on my app I plan on stating that this is the first year of the club. Or should I just leave it off my app altogether?</p>

<p>My EC's are subpar so this is why I'm wondering.
EC's:
9, 10, 11, 12, Sum. Recreational Basketball
9, 10, 11, 12 Track and Field (Varsity Letter 11, 12)
11, 12 City Community Service Club (Board Coordinator 12)
11, Sum., 12 Literacy Tutor ------can't be a tutor before age 16 because its a city volunteer position
12, Library Programming Committee (no leadership position but I have some responsibilities on the committee)-The committee plans, organizes, and markets community events
10, 11, 12 Offseason Track Training Program---I workout on my own for about 3.5 hrs per week during the 4 months before track season </p>

<p>I'm applying to schools like Notre Dame, USC, UVA(OOS), Berkeley, UCLA, UMich
