Hey guys, I need to know if I should just give up with this whole ACT deal.
On my first ACT in April after little prep I got a 30 ( 33 reading, 30 english, 30 math, 28 science) and I then took the ACT again in June after 6-8 Full practice tests (real ones) and my scores were (35eng, 33read, 30math, 26science) for a composite of 31... However, I've started studying again for the September ACT since my goal score is a 33... However, I'm just slowly declining my score test after test... I've taken 3 and a half full tests and I'm more than disappointed. My scores for the tests go as follow:
Test 1: 31.75 32eng, 33math, 33read, 29sci
Test 2: 31.25 32eng, 29math, 32read, 32sci (I felt as if I was getting good at science)
Test 3: 30... 32eng, 31math, 31read, 26sci (ahh back to the usual)
Test 4: 30eng, 29math,

I'm just feeling like I'm losing it. I have 14 more practice tests to take but I don't even know if I should bother. Somehow, every practice test I take my scores are just getting lower and lower. I really don't know *** is going on...

Have you tried the SAT?

yea, I tried the SAT and will never go back… I got a 1820… like 590 600 620 or somethign but I sucked hard on that. I’m so ****ing pssed right now. I can see my dreams drifting away.

yes i think you should stop people. just hit their limit. which in your case is a 32 ACT which a great score top 1% in the nation

my twin brother were ACT geniuses the one at Berkeley got a 33 and the one at USC got a 32. Yet my limit seems to be around 30.

but before you do quit check this guide that my bro at berkeley made. it might help you sure helped a lot of other people.

I hate to say it, but there is such a thing as practicing too much. These tests are designed to test a person’s cumulative knowledge over all 11 or 12 years of formal education. Studying may be able to bump a score up a point or two, but once you get into the really high scores like you have, there’s not a lot you can do. For what it matters, a 31 is still a very good score, and if all other aspects of your application are strong then you don’t need to worry about your dreams slipping away.

i wouldn’t stop, 1.5 weaker practice tests is not a valid trend.

if you match your top scores on these practices (forgetting about the 35 eng you once got) you still have a 33.
32 eng, 33 math, 33 read,32 science.

sure, you can’t get that score every time–and it will involve a bit of luck to get them on the same test. But it’s not unrealistic. You’ve already proved that it’s possible.

Hmm, wow (won’t say name
thanks for that, I’ve actually never thought of it that way. And also before I took the test in June I was KILLING pratice tests. I was consistantly hitting 34+ on math and english and averaging a 33 on reading. It’s so odd because all my scores seem to be so different. One day I hit a 35 english the next day a 29… I just hope after these 15 tests I can figure out all the tricks.

^did you ever get to send that email? -.- its been 3 days…

speaking of that pm me your email

^ok i sent it, please go check

email has been sent

thanks, do u have the answers to the tests?

Also, do u know which years you sent me?

edit: answers for first test only

NO idea which years, secondly no awnsers, paid 170$ an hr to my tutor but supposidly its their policy to not give awnsers… go figure

hey, UVA, the tests that you email out…are they the ones you have to print out? xD

Maybe you should take a little break. dont get frustrated. you still have plenty of time. space your practice tests out. dont rush through them. taking 7 pt’s and looking over them is way better than rushing through 14! 14 is a lot! it also all depends on your mood. be happy and healthy.
