Should i re-take the ACT?

Hey fellow forum goers:

I was wondering if it's a good idea to re-take the ACT, i recently took the April 2007 test, and remarkably pulled off a 35 composite: 35 eng, 36 math, 33 reading, 35 sci

However, my essay score is a 9, which is decent, but I'm sure i can improve it, i had a mind blank during the writing period. If i re-take everything, i doubt i could do much better on multiple choice, and will probably end up doing worse, if anything.

I've read through other threads that say that essays don't matter too much, because some colleges think they're stupid, i hope this is true, but anyway.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a bunch.

I'd say stick with your current score. If you feel you might do worse if you retake it, then dont take teh chance.

o___0 If you have an SAT writing score that's high enough, I see no point in retaking.

It also depends on the college you're applying to. See if the writing portion's required.

My SAT writing score was an 8.

Did the you guys just get your score through the mail? Since you know your essay score, because I still haven't received mine yet.

Are writing scores avalible yet?

I have pretty much the same question
I got a 34 composite which is better than I expected, but I got an 8 on the writing which brought my combined english score down to 29 :(.
Should I retake the test? Or will the combined english/essay score not hold much weight in the admissions process?
