Hello, incoming high school senior here. As ive started to look at schools to apply to, ive began to think about what majors i could potentially have a career in.
For the longest time it was psychology, but its trickled out of my interests since i have no desire to earn a PhD. Im now considering neuroscience, or international studies, but im not sure if either of these are good choices. I plan on getting a masters degree no matter what, and i want a job that will give me job security and (obviously) pay well. However, im not sure how many neuroscience-related jobs there are for people who dont have doctorate’s, and im not sure how promising an international relations job would be. I figured since things with the middle east (and pretty much the entire world, really) are so crazy right now, it would be smart to get an international relations degree, but is it hard to get a job thats outside of a government agency that requires like 10 years of experience?
This whole thing is so stressful. I dont want to pick a major and a college that will cost me and my parents thousands and leave me unemployed. I also dont want to pick a school that has a certain major and then end up transferring if i decide to do something different for my major/career. Unfortunately i wasnt blessed with the math or science skills to be become a doctor or engineer, so im at a loss for what i should do with my future. Are these majors promising, or should i look at other options?
