Should I register the ACT in Dec.?

Will the UC's accept ACT scores take in Dec. 08? Should I register for that one if I need to study more?

I was wondering the same thing. Anyone?

yeah me two

Did you check UC website? Mintjulepfifif: Are you registered for ACT before Dec?

i heard u have until the end of december to complete testing.

Deadlines on UC website:
University of California - Admissions

but I'm still nervous about how fast the reports are sent it, is there a priority or something like that??

To all above posters: Do you have ACT scores to submit and are you trying to improve your scores? Do you have SAT to submit?

tmi I'm retaking to improve. No SAT scores to submit.

Why not take the OCT ACT test?

I don't know about anybody else here, but I'm taking the November 1st SAT II and I don't want to take back to back tests. I tried before, with my original ACT and school Finals, and it wasn't pretty..

Well I think the Dec 13th test is a late risk--back to back is tough--do you have decent enough scores in case the Dec ACT ends up being received too late?

tmi - I have a 27 on the ACT currently and no SAT 2 scores... so that is taking priority, but I really don't like the ACT score all that much, so getting in a retake would be nice...

So.... I was looking at the score report dates for the SAT (1+2) and taking the test date on December 6th you get the scores back on the 23rd. But there is priority reporting..

Just found the ACT details... Taking the test on December 13th, results will be available starting the 24th. (with the writing option taking longer) With priority reporting as an option.

BUT since the next couple days after both, SAT and ACT is the Christmas Holiday, I'm not sure how that would impact the report sending...

waterpolo820: How does your 27 fit in to where you are applying?

For those thinking you have time to get the December ACT scores in better think again.

Today is the day they were to start the release of the September ACT scores and over half haven't received their scores yet.

So figure on POSSIBLY getting yoru scores on the 24th through January, plus it takes one to two weeks on top of that for them to send them to your school.

I signed D up for the October ACT and SATs and that's it. She's done.

tmi: It's more on the border line, I'm applying to the UC system and want to get into UCSB or UCI. So I dunno how this is going to work out, but I'll see..

Waterpolo820: Would you consider taking the Oct 25th test even though it's the week before the subject tests? If you can afford the time and money I recommend this, as it might be worth the retake even if you do little to no prep. Then send the 27 if you don't improve. When did you take it, what were your scores on each section, did you prep much?

tmi: I took your advice and signed up for it, but I decided to pay a little more attention to prep for the Subject Test.. I don't remember the exact scores, and I'm to lazy to log on, but each score was pretty much +/- 2 points. As for prep I spent the day before the test just looking over a sample test. And that is it. So I can probably do a lot better if I sat down and actually prep this time around..

Waterpolo820: Def prep for Subject Test(s). I was wondering about breakdown of each section just to offer suggs for improvement, that's all! PM me if you want; otherwise good luck!
