hey..i applied to NEU early action as safety...got in with dean's scholarship...

i just got into USC, Michigan and UIUC, which means there's no chance whatsoever I would go to NEU next year, am i supposed to decline the offer now or just wait till the May1st deadline expire and not care about it..

if i should decline the offer, can i send them a playful letter like how colleges reject you?

"Dear Admissions Committee,
This year's college choices for me has been extremely competitive. I am sorry to inform you that I am unable to sell myself to you. Please understand that NEU's college credentials have been reviewed comprehensively. Good luck in your pursuit of applicants that fit your institutional goals.

oh that is SO funny! but personally, i think you should be a bit nicer to NU since its a great school and they obviously wanted you =] but maybe you should let it expire just incase you have a change of heart (to be on the safe side) but its up to you, good luckkkkk

ps those are great other schools, congrats!

if you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that you will not go there, PLEASE PLEASE let them know asap so that they can offer your spot to another student who might be anxiously awaiting/praying for a positive response!

Well, since they didn't reject you, I don't think you have to stick it to 'em. Yeah it's obviously your safety but as long as they treated you with respect I personally wouldn't do it.

It's funny that you mention Michigan. Last year they totally left a bunch of kids hanging including myself (first got deferred, waitlisted, then rejected after waiting until like April). I know there was one kid (from CC) who was so ****ed off that he wrote a not-so-kind letter to admissions, but UMich totally deserved it after that.

bearcats,
when you come down off that large ego you should just politely send an email saying that you will be attending elsewhere. I really wish you would stop posting on this forum when there are so many students who really want to attend NEU.
It's a bit rude to post the way you do when they are waiting for deferred acceptance or RD acceptance.
There is a place for everyone, yours is not here, good for you. Move on.
