Should I repeat a year? Is it worth it?

So I have a chance to go to a really wonderful boarding school. I won't disclose specifically which school but it is Andover/Exeter/Hotchkiss/Deerfield/etc, so definitely very prestigious. My parents really want me to go, and I don't think it's a bad idea. They think that the school would really help out with my journey to college.

However, if I apply in accordance with my normal schooling, then I would be a senior, and I would only spend one year there before graduating.

Is this advisable? Should I become a repeat-junior? Is it worth it to go to college a year late?

Thanks.

I was a repeat 11th grader at Exeter this past year. I’m really glad I chose to repeat and I think my choice was worth it. I’m excited to go back this fall because I already know what to expect and I won’t be new anymore. Last year was like a transition year for me so now I’m ready to dive in to all Exeter has to offer for real.
