Should I report a 3 on the AP physics 1 exam?

Normally I would avoid reporting anything under a 4 to some of the more competitive places I’m applying, however Physics 1 is a notoriously difficult exam (the most common score this year was a 1!) so with that in mind should I report my 3 or would it be better not to?

Depends where you’re applying and for what major.

A few top 20s some LACs and a couple of state schools is the plan. Currently planning on going either econ or history (and into law after that)

In that case (not a stem major) it’s up to you - unless the university. That’s assuming you have a bunch of 5s in Humanities and social science tests attempted and 4s otherwise.

If you take any AP test it is good to report what you received for each score. When schools see lower AP scores on college applications they still consider the fact that you pushed yourself to take the test and receiving a relative score. College admissions consider a lot of factors when looking at college applicant scores. These scores are substantial for determining if the student should be accepted or admitted into their 4 year university.

I’d recommend reporting it. A 3 isn’t a bad score at all: I reported my 3 on AP Chemistry and got into UCLA and UC Berkeley. Given the chances of passing AP Physics, it may actually reflect well on you! Good luck in your applications
