I just got the results of my AP tests from this year, and unfortunately got a 2 on Macroeconomics. It’s honestly shocking to me because I had a 95 in the class and studied, but that’s the score I got and I have to deal with it. My other scores are in AP Literature (5), APUSH (5), AP Lang (4), and Human Geography (4). I’ll also be reporting my predicted IB scores. Should I just not self report my 2 on common app or would that be seen as dishonesty? Thanks!!
I would not report a 2.
It’s not dishonest since self reporting is optional. It’s perfectly fine to report some/all/none. I would not list a 2.
@elfruits Do not report your 2 or 3 to selective universities. List only those you wish for them to evaluate. It is an option, so absolutely not dishonest. Dishonest would be listing a 2 as a 5 and that is absolutely not acceptable. Not listing a 2 or 3 is standard procedure. They will still see the rigor of the AP class and the grade on your transcript , so no worries.
Best of luck and do not worry about the 2! The teacher probably did not properly prepare you.
AP Scores are not used for admissions.
You got basically a D on your AP test…that just means you need to take College Level Microeconomics again…which is okay to take college level classes in college.
An admissions reader is likely to assume that an unreported AP score is a 1 (or maybe 2).
