Should I report my low SAT even though I have a really high ACT?

My SAT is a mere 2050, but my ACT score is a 35. (I've also done the subject tests, 760 on math 2 and 720 on chemistry)
Should I report my SAT score at all? I think it shows that I was willing to take both tests but a friend says the SAT score is really low to be worth showing.
I plan on applying to high-end universities like UC Berkeley and UC LA.
Thanks!

Your friend is wrong. A 2050 is very good. It won’t hurt your app. I say send it, since it won’t cost anything since you are sending your subject tests and they are the same report (you just have to select your options right).

Don’t bother sending the SAT unless some of your schools require it

If the school does not require all score, I don’t see the point of send the SAT score. It probably would not hurt your chance, but it would hurt your pocket.

I would probably refrain from sending it. To me, it costs money to send it and it is not really serving a purpose. Sure, it shows that you are willing to take both tests, but if the scores are not equitable to the other one, what is the purpose? While I understand your point, there are test drones out there that take multiple versions of a test, which could almost be viewed as a negative as students from lower incomes would not be able to afford to do so.

Do not send the SAT score since though good but much worse compare to your ACT score. You will not get any point by showing schools that you have taken both tests. Just send your excellent ACT score unless the school absolutely requires SAT scores.

While your SAT score is good, it’s nowhere near as good as your ACT which has an SAT concordance of over 2300. Don’t send your SAT score unless required.

“Mere 2050”

Sigh, why do students on CC do this…

Because we’re the upper 1% of elite students.

No one need to hide a 2050 SAT score. Many student just took it to fulfill the NMF requirement instead of using it for college application. It is just no need to submit it unless required when you have 35 in ACT. There are plenty of reasons to do not so well in any single test, but there is only one reason to get a great score from a test.

I would just send ACT and then the SAT subject tests. 35 is a great score.

Subject Scores I need to send anyway, so the SAT goes free with those. Because most people addressed money as the issue and now it technically sends free, I think I’ll send all scores?

DO NOT SEND THAT SAT!!

Since you are sending your SAT2s, it really is up to you. That SAT score can only be helpful or neutral. It will NOT negatively effect your app.

I’ll say it again. There is no need to hide a 2050 SAT score.

@deweystront‌ Well, that isn’t arrogant at all…

There is no need to hide it, but there is also no reason to send it just because it is free. It is significantly different in relation to his ACT score – indeed, it is still a very good score for many students, but the ACT score is superb. Sending the SAT score and seeing it in comparison to the ACT may raise questions with some reps and there is no reason to even take that chance.

Just a side note that, there are plenty of students just taking the SAT once with little preparation just aiming at 2000+ for the NMF requirement while focusing on ACT for school applications.
