Should I report scholarships from another college?

<p>Well, Duke is definitely my first choice, but I was offered a merit scholarship at UNC. My parents, who have filled out FAFSA and PROFILE, don't know if we could afford to pay the amount that it says we would be expected to pay. They want me to inform Duke of my scholarship in hopes of getting more Financial Aid at Duke. I don't want to hurt my chances for admittance. </p>

<p>It is quite likely that Duke won’t care one way or the other. But if you do want to negotiate, do so *after * you’ve been accepted and have seen your FA package. You don’t yet have anything to negotiate for or against.</p>
