Should I Report this?

I just took the AP Comp exam this morning. From what I have gathered, the proctor is supposed to designate 15 minutes to read. The proctor, upon the conclusion of the 15 minutes, then indicates when students are permitted to proceed and write their essays. During my AP US exam, they were very particular about the designated reading time. We were not permitted to open our writing packets until we received the okay from the proctor. During our Comp exam today, the proctor told us we could start reading, but he never said when we were permitted to begin writing. I waited for the proctor to instruct us to begin the essay, because it is against the rules to do otherwise. But then the proctor never indicated that we could start. I finally just decided to go ahead and begin. Most of the people I spoke with were in the same situation. They wasted a few minutes, looking around the room to see if we were allowed to start, when they could have been writing. I know this is not a huge deal, but the proctor did not follow proper procedures and thus, many students had less time to write the essays than they should have (and other students had more time because they were not penalized for starting before the writing period). Should I report this? I would not want the College Board to cancel our scores because of the proctor's improper protocol, but if there is a way to rectify this situation, I would like to know.

Honestly, it should depend on whether you’ve done well or not! :)

I think if you still finished in time then you shouldn’t take the chance of having your score canceled.

On the last essay, I did not have enough time to write a conclusion. I don’t know how big of a deal that is.

^Not the biggest deal, as long as your argument was pretty much wrapped up at the end of your last body paragraph. You just don’t want to leave the reader hanging and wondering what the point of your essay was. It might cost you one point on the essay, so not really a huge deal.

I agree that you should not report to cb and risk cancellation of scores.

I cannot stand teachers, administrators, and proctors who do not follow proper operating procedures. It just irks me to the bone, and it makes me very angry at times. But in a case like this, I’d just resist the temptation and let it by. It’s not worth the trouble, to be honest.

Try getting ten minutes shaved off your ACT reading section, then complain to me.

Honestly unless u want to retake the WHOLE three hour and fifteen min test… Don’t report it. However if u feel like u bombed and wanna redo it then doooo… Good luck! =)

I agree with the above. If you feel like it negatively affected your composite score, you should report it, but not otherwise.
