Should I reschedule my MCAT?

I took a bad practice test yesterday. I was scoring over 26 all summer but took a bit of a break, and scored a 20 on a Kaplan MCAT practice. I was shocked but realized it was because I seemed to have forgotten a lot of formulas and exact knowledge I need to re-memorize.

So my test is in three weeks. Which would be fine if that was the only thing I had to study. But in three weeks I have two huge lab reports due, two big midterms (one of which I need an A because I did terrible on the first one), in combination with volunteering, working in the lab, etc.

I just feel having a few weeks with nothing but MCAT stuff would be beneficial. I don't apply to this Spring so I could retake it if I do poorly but I rather just reschedule until January because I believe there is still a pre-2015 MCAT in January. I could use all Christmas break to study.

My parents, who are paying for my test/possible reschedule, say I already rescheduled once and need to just take it/stop putting it off. But I honestly feel more time would not only help my school grades, but improve my score. Plus I can afford to reschedule it on my own, even if they paid for the test. They already took off work to come visit me and take me to the test...

What do you think, take it and retake it in Jan/2015 if bad? Or reschedule?

I might keep taking practice tests, and if I on an old one AMCAS one 1-2 weeks before I can;t score around a 27, I’ll reschedule to be honest . . Advice though? I have good stats (high GPA, lot’s of EC’s) but I want a half-decent score.

Have you checked to see if there are any open seats left for the January test dates?

I know some people have reported that there are no available seats for any of January MCAT dates left anywhere in the entire state of Florida. And that is true, the situation is the same for other states as well.
