Hey everyone! So I got my ap biology (the new 2013 version) back today, and I didn't do so well. I made a 2. I'm really really really devastated about it considering i studied my butt off for it, and most students around me made a 3 or higher. Should I rescore? Does anyone have any rescore success stories they can share too? Thank you so much everyone! And good luck to all the biology students that are going to find their scores out later! Any advice would be appreciated, thank you all.

That is entirely up to you. However, I wouldn’t recommend it as they will only rescore the Section I score, and the section that people did the worse on was Section II, and the grid-ins (although those were really easy). The reason why they don’t rescore Section II is because the Section II booklets are reviewed by mulitple people, and a score is arrived in agreement (I believe).

If you really think you did better on Section I than the score shows, then you can ask for a rescore. However, don’t expect a 4 or 5 out of it. You may get a 3 out of it, or even a 1, but most likely the same score. However, it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Besides, I have friends who made a 2 on the exam as well. Sure, a 2 is pretty low, but you should feel proud for making it this far. You have gained experience and you now know the expectations of the college class a bit better now. Look for the positives, not purely negatives. It’s better to get a 2 now than a D in the actual college course. It just means you need to work harder.

Do you think that if I’m a couple of points off the person that will hand grade my multiple choice will just end up giving me the benefit (a 3)?

It is possible. However, they will only give you a 3 if the new multiple choice score with the Section II score is high enough (higher than cutoff) to give a 3.

The person reviewing it will have no idea how it will affect your score. They just determine if you received proper credit for Part I.
