Should I retake a 2200 SAT score?

hey so i retook my Sat's and bumped up my score 250 points and landed a 2200. With that, a 4.1 gpa, legacy status (father received MBA from wharton), my own non-for-profit tutoring program in the los angeles projects, other great extracurriculars... What are my chances of getting into UPenn early decision?

Are all of your sections above 700? If so, don't freak. It won't hurt your application, certainly, and it wouldn't be a bad idea if you thought you could do better. But if that's a fair score for your general aptitude, it's not going to make or break your app. Grades, essays, and ECs will probably play a much larger role.

I'm in the same boat. 1550/1600 but I got 660 on the essay. So you guys don't think that 660 matters since the 1600 score is good?

if you study more then i’d reccomend retaking and aiming at a 2300-2350+

Chance me please

It’s hard for people on these boards to accurately chance you, especially based on one factor of many. But as a general rule, you should aim to have all sections about a 700 unless you have a significant hook (URM, recruited athlete–honestly, I think even legacies need to have impressive applications).

If you go to princetonreview.com, you can find the middle 50% of SAT scores on each section for the schools you’re looking at. Aim for the top end of that scale (so, the 75%) on each section. And note that although this means 25% of accepted students did worse than the lower end of the middle 50% scale, this does not mean that you are competitive for admissions without the top scores. These kids are usually hooked in some way, and, because the schools present the breakdown of SAT scores, it means that 25% of kids did worse on that particular section, not that 25% got a 630 or whatever on every section (for a composite of less than 2000). If that made sense…if not, someone who knows what I’m trying to say can take a stab at explaining it.

im retaking my 2220.

am an international student, registered but didnt prepare for it, panicked the last 5 days and browsed through the format. gonna do some practice this round and try for 2350+
