Should I retake a 2200, with a low math score?

Hi, I got a 2200 SAT (730 R, 670 M, 800 W)
My question is should I retake to raise math? I don't have a knack for the SAT math, and was thinking about taking the ACT instead.
Would it be better to take the ACT in the fall, or the SAT?
I also have to take subject tests as well in the fall.
Thanks.

Try the ACT: you might do better, or you might not. I would say those are terrific scores unless you have your heart set on the top tier of STEM or Business programs, where the Math component is weighed very heavily. Are you taking high-level (ie. AP and/or IB) math classes, and performing well in them? If so, you will provide ample evidence of your basic quantitative skills.

Although a 670 isn’t extremely low, I would go for another shot provided this isn’t your 4th attempt

Your CR+M is 1400 which is just okay for top schools. So it really depends on what schools you are aiming at. In general, you want at least all sections above 700 if you are aiming at top schools. For Engineering, you actually want to score as close to 800 as possible in Math for those top ones.

Try subject tests or Act. If you are in AP or IB curriculum you will be considered. Your overall marks is quite pleasing.

Thanks for the input everyone. My dream school is Stanford just to put things in perspective. I will take an ACT practice test soon and see if I do better. Also, I am going to study for Math II and a science subject test this summer.
