should I retake a 770 math2

I thought I aced it, So i probably made a lot of stupid mistakes. Is it worth it to bump that up to an 800 and do standby registration for the december SAT II's? I am fairly certain with a little studying I could, because i went into the nov one no studying
Im applying to vanderbilt, duke, and rice engineering....

Nope, not at all. A 770 is absolutely fine.

Will colleges recognize that I missed the # of the curve + 3 more, which seems like I missed alot, or will they say 770/800 aint bad?

i also got a 770. and im not retaking...i self studied this subject, because i had forgotten all the trig from 2 years ago and i never learned precalc...770 is good though.

meh, I think Im just gonna retake it. its only an extra hour, and I know im not gonna much lower if at all

if you do, you should be rejected for not having a life.

If you think a 770 is something that is going to reject you, you need a reality check.

seriously???

kill yourself.

No, a lot of people believe that since the Math II curve is so generous, there's no reason not to get an 800 (I'd believe the percentile is messed up).

Depends on where you want to go to school. If you are applying to CalTech, Harvey Mudd or MIT or seeking a scholarship in a math based discipline, then you should retake the Math II SAT II exam.

Yea, since sat II curves are so generous, I feel like a 770 is much worse than it would be if I got that on the reasoning test. plus its only an extra hour and im already taking satII physics December.
To those that think I need to kill myself: I know a 770 wont hurt my app, but why not go for an 800 and help my app...

One of my kids got a 770 Math Level II and we took him out for a nice dinner. Have a life!

An average score of SAT II math would be <700 so don't worry. CC just has really high scorers.

I love how at my school this girl w/ a 2230 (720 M) got a 620 Math 2. It's a hard test for the general test taker -- it's only math whizzes who typically score well on math2. The curve is there because the test is insanely difficult.

...your 770 is great.

i agree with the majority of people here. 770 isn't bad. Maybe spending that time doing something else?

Dont look at your raw score, look at your percentile. If your percentile is below 90%, then retake. Otherwise, just sit back. And dont tell him he doesnt have a life. At least he wants to go to a good college.

if the OP goes up by 10-20 points, will colleges frown upon the fact that he retook it?

Please post a published source, any source that any college looks at percentile over scaled score.

dang it. I was planning on retaking a 760 since it was such a low percentile. And because I took it as a sophomore?

Whether or not they look at the percentile, colleges still GET the percentiles. That is a judge of how well you did in comparison to others. If they get 5 students with 800s and only 4 spots left, they would obviously take a look at the percentile.
