I took the ACT for the second time in April 2016 and got a 33 (34E, 33M, 35R, 29S). Should I take the test again to bring up science for my superscore? I heard its best to take the test 3 times and wanted to know what you guys think. I would have to take many practice tests to get up to speed again and could risk doing worse. Any advice is appreciated thanks :). BTW I am applying to UCLA, UCB, Williams, Amherst, UPenn, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Emory, etc.
Many of the schools on your list will want more than a 33. Take the test in Sept. AND Oct. since it will give you 2 shots to improve instead of one. 100% of my students who don’t take the test as seniors have their scores remain the same, and I have had many seniors whose senior year ACT’s have bumped them into primo school acceptance territory.
@midtntutor I think I am just going to take it again in October and study my butt off. I really appreciate the advice.
If you study your butt off… how will you be able to “sit” for the October test (sorry, couldn’t resist!)
