My SAT is a 2230 (750 CR 700 M 780 W) ACT 31 (30 E 34 M 30 R 31 S) and 720 US History Sat II and a 740 on math II. I'm applying to Duke ED and some other top choices are cornell, columbia, and boston college. Do you think these scores are pretty competetive for these schools? (maybe not columbia) I'd just like some advice because I really do not feel like taking anymore tests haha thank you!

SAT should be fine for all, even Columbia. The ACT could probably be taken again, but doesn’t really need to at all, just send SAT. SATIIs look decent, but you could retake Math II if you’re applying for a math/science heavy major.

Your scores are very good, but good scores alone will not get you into any of those schools.

I’m going to major in economics. The only reason I want to send the ACT at this point is because I scored highly in math

Anything above a 30 on the ACT is generally in the range of highly selective schools.
Your math score is very good.
A 740 on Math II is also very good.
REally, you should be fine.
Yes your SAT is better (32 on the ACT is equivalent to a 2100, so a 2200 or above is higher than your 31).
But neither are bad.
Retake them if you want scholarship money at safety schools…

If you want your math ACT “shine” over your SAT math, just send both scores. That way they can see both, and they’re going to use the higher one anyways. I don’t think it’s going to make a significant difference though.

thanks guys
