So, I have a lot of open elective hours considering I'm just doing a BS in Econ. I'm wondering if I would benefit much from retaking Calculus (which I unfortunately got D+ in). It still counts as passing and I don't need for any other courses, but I'm wondering if it would boost my GPA if I were to do better, or if it would just help me overall.

When I look at econ, I (personally) look to quantitative economics. Certainly, an excellent grounding in calculating rates of change, accumulated value, etc. will help you understand some of the theories out of those fields. If it is a BS (not a BA), I certainly would not want to have Calc I defeat me. I would re-engage and dominate it!

This situation is subjective to what YOU want to do. If you want to go to grad school in economics or a high level MBA I would definitely suggest retaking it. If you simply want your BS in economics and are not concerned with getting a high level finance job that uses calculus a lot than I would say not really.

Now if that D+ is really bugging you… I say go for it :D
