I’m an incoming freshman at Ohio State and I recently just got my AP scores back. I scored a 4 on AP Chemistry. I am going into pre-med with a potential biochem or biology major. Would it be wise for me to retake General Chemistry? Thanks for any help.
One more thing! I also received a 4 on Calculus BC. However, my school did not offer the course and I primarily self-studied for the test. Would you recommend I retake Calc II or go forward and take Calc III? Thanks!
Since you got 4s, you should absolutely not bother with getting AP credit at ohio state and retake the courses.
Try the old final exams from the Ohio State courses to see how well you know the material by their standards.
Just to reiterate, AP classes are not equivalent to college classes, they are been viewed lower level and easier by med school adcoms. If you skip the lower level chem in OSU, you might have problem with the higher level chem classes.
