my question exactly...i'm applying for MS / PhD in electrical engineering...i'm applying to MIT, CMU, RPI (where i did my undergrad with a 3.2 GPA), and Purdue...

i didn't really prepare at all...and i had test anxiety too...plus the last verbal section i sorta guessed the whole section...i knew i got one wrong in math and that was driving me crazy the whole time bc i'm really good at math and really wanted the 800 like i got on the SAT math back in high school

should i retake at least to raise the verbal score?

Definitely if you have the time to do so. A heavy emphasis on the verbal section should bring you a better score and increase your chances. And try and get that 800 again in math.

thanks for the input…i think i need to practice the computerized test too…that was throwing me off and making me even more nervous during the math…as it is the math makes me VERY nervous bc i’m under very high pressure to get every question correct

the last question was 1575 = 3^x* 5^y * 7^z…with 16 seconds left on the test i couldn’t quickly prime factorize although i realize now i could’ve just divided by 25 and then let the rest fall into place…so i just guessed an answer and immediately realized it was wrong when the timer ended…that made me EVER so ****ed off and i just guessed the entire last verbal section…which came as a complete surprise to me because i thought there was only one math and one verbal…

do they ever throw in two math sections and one verbal??..bc this time i had one math and two verbal…
