I'm still waiting for June 7th SAT scores, June 14th ACT scores, and plan on taking the ACT in September and October maybe depending on my results. If I don't get that 1400/1600 on June 26th(probably won't), is it always worth taking it that 3rd try since colleges don't mind you taking 3 times(then they take notice at 4 or more)? I don't see myself studying intensely over the summer, and October is when people take it after studying after the summer(so the curve can be harsh, though last October's CR curve was like heavenly grace), but should I just do it anyways?

Sure, go for it good luck. might as well go all out and have no regrets

i think you should..of course if you think you can

What did you get the first time?

What schools are you aiming for?

I'm sort of in the same boat. I have a low math score (670) from the May SAT, and I don't think I didn't much (if at all) better on the June SAT. I'm booked in October for subject tests, but I'm not sure if I should retake the SAT in November.

670 M
560 CR(10/19 vocab wrong! Took me 1500+ words later to get 1/19 wrong)
670 W

I'm sort of worried about CR because you think that what you choose should be right with those passages, but that could always be your opinion, but I thought I did better(except the first section which I fell short on time, omitted 3 and probably got 3-4 wrong), but did really well on the next 2 sections).

Maybe....
690M
650CR
750W

I can try the October to try and get my 700+ in M and CR.

Also, another key thing I left out of this topic was that I was considering taking subject tests, and I know it depends on the schools you apply to, but I have a strong penchant(inclination) towards local schools, but I might always just try schools like Duke or Standford or Wash. U, and if I didn't take subject tests, then I'm out of luck because I took an SAT I rather than the SAT IIs.

that first CR section on vandalism kinda got me cold there...the second and third sections were relatively easy tho (i don't wanna say "easy" b/c, u never know! hope i wasn't a joe blogg and didn't pick all the obvious and WRONG answers).
