Should I retake Literature?

I got a 740 on the June Lit test and I know I can do better. I got a 790 in CR in 10th grade and an 800 in 11th grade. I also got a 770 in writing in 11th grade. The 740 is really not comparable, and I can probably get a 800 if I tried. I was just really hungover that day, lol.

My question is, should I retake? Like I said, I am capable of doing better, but I don't want to seem like I'm obsessed with test taking to colleges. I did Penn ED but I am predicting a deferral, so the December lit test could meet the deadlines of all my RD colleges. I am aiming for Penn/Harvard/Georgetown/Swarthmore.

Thanks!

If I were you I would only take it if I was sure that I would get an 800. A 740 is an excellent score on the SAT II Literature. What are your other SAT II scores. I can understand as to why you would like to retake it because I am the same way. If you have 760+ on your other SAT II's I would just leave lit alone.

They are ehh, 740 BioE and 760 Math IC.

you disgust me...you smart people. a 740? there are people out there that would kill for a 650 (coughs me)

i think your lit score is completely fine.

Stop whining. I retook my Literature test because I knew I would get a better score but I didn't and now I'm furious.

yeah, literature is probably the toughest subject test as you can't really study for it. colleges know that and look at scores accordingly

plus i've never heard of anyone getting 800 on literature... i'm one of only a few people at my school that took it and as far as i know i have the highest with 750

I hate when pretentious people make threads like this.
I have no further comment.
