31 Composite
33 Math
33 Reading
30 Writing
25 Science(I was sick and I just couldn't focus, I didn't finish a whole set of questions and straight bubbled B)

Would it be beneficial? If the colleges focus or math and reading the most then would it help at all to retake?

Thank you!

Brown is the dream school. I am hispanic, have a very diverse background, and great essays.

Sure. The issue with take too many tests is if you are taking it 3 or more times. If it is your second or third time, go ahead and take it

What does being Hispanic have to do with it? Unless you are one of these people who think you should be entitled to get a leg up on others because you are a minority. Affirmative Action (or any other discriminatory program they are calling it these days) is just as wrong as taking white kids over minorities. No one in the history of my family since coming to America has owned slaves or participated in discrimination against minorities. So why should I or my children be discriminated against?

To post #3, you’re clearly asking the wrong person. Affirmative Action may seem unfair and wrong to you, but it is a fact that elite colleges do practice it. They are likely to accept minorities (hispanic, african-american) with lower standardized test scores than whites or asians. One of the reasons is that there’s a generalization that minorities have access to less resources than non-minorities, so to account for this, they’ll most likely have lower test scores. It doesn’t seem very fair, but if colleges went truly race-blind and based admissions on test scores only, the percentages of minorities would decrease at top colleges- which seems more unfair to me at least.

To the original poster, if you were sick during one of the sections, then of course retake the ACT! You’ll probably improve your score this time, which will improve your chances during the college admissions process. I believe the composite score (not just math and english) is factored into the decision too. Good luck!

I would try for a higher Science one. it’s always good to boost up your reading and math score a little bit.
