Should I retake my GREs before applying to PhD programs (already in master's program)

My GREs were ok, but not great (151Q 159V). I would like to be about 155Q 165V, and I am confident in my ability to improve.

However, I've already been accepted to (and am currently enrolled in) an M.S.Ed. program. It's not a top-tier program (roughly top 70 for education), but it fit my needs (practical emphasis, good location) and so far, I'm doing well (I'd list my GPA but after only one semester that's virtually meaningless). Will my (hopeful) success in a master's program speak louder than my so-so GREs or should I re-take them before I apply to PhD programs next year? Does it depend on the tier of school I'm applying to for PhDs? Should I factor in weak undergrad grades into this decision at all?

Thanks for your help.

Success in a Masters program with a good GPA should mitigate a weak undergraduate GPA somewhat. As for retaking the GRE, I don’t see how it could hurt since you don’t have to report all your scores to programs you are applying to in the future.
