should I retake my SAT? (Don't be mad, I didn't get above 2200)

I got a 1470/2100 (750 CR 720 M 630 W)

I like my score out of 1600, but my writing score is so low that I was wondering if it would be worth a retake?

Where do you want to apply?
I got my writing score up from a 690 to an 800 by doing a lot of the blue book's Writing section and seeing what I did wrong, etc.
Although your M+W is really awesome, I'm sure that if you retake it you can do better and really boost your writing, getting you into 2200+ territory and making you a much more competitive applicant than you already are.
Hope this helped :)

hmmm... yeah that sounds like a good idea, if writing is really that easy to improve on. I'm applying to Williams ED, as well as Northwestern, Tufts, Carleton, U Chicago, Brown, and Dartmouth.

bump/ .

I'd say go for it. You've already gotten a 1450+, so a 2200+ can only help you. You're looking to applying to some extremely competitive schools and a higher score can never be a negative.

I'd go for a retake, yes.

I would retake just to bring the writing up.
