Should I retake my SATs? (Ivy and Ivy equivalent applicant) Thanks!

Hi all,
I applied ED to Brown, and I will be applying to most of the ivies, as well as Hopkins, Tufts, Amherst, Northwestern...etc.
I have a 2250 SAT (730 CR 740 Math 780 Writing) and a 33 ACT. My GPA is a 5.1 weighted, and I am third in the grade of 355 at a competitive high school. Should I/ Can I retake my standardized tests?
Thank you!

Better is better, and if those are your first time scores there’s probably little downside to re-taking the tests; however, all your numbers look great.

I took them both twice. I already sent my scores, and only sent the highest. I just feel its on the low side…

Honestly, if you don’t think that you can significantly increase those scores I wouldn’t retake the tests.

Your scores only matter to a certain extent. If there is a 2250 or a 2300 on your application that doesn’t increase your chances (if you would score 2400ish, k maybe that would make a difference). There are lots of other things that are considered in your application. I would rather focus on your essays etc. to ensure that you really stand out in the application pool - a slightly higher SAT score probably won’t do the job.

5.1 weighted?
How does your HS calculate weighted gpa?
DS’s HS gave nothing for honors course and +1 for AP’s and had an unweighted max of 4.0 (A+, A or A- in a non AP course = 4.0), so a 5.1 would have been impossible for anyone at his HS.

a 4.5 is an A+ in a regular class, and an A+ in an AP or honors class is 5.5
an A is a 4.0 and 5.0, respectively
any one else?

your score is great, no need to retake. if you dont get in it wont be because of your scores.

are you sure? better scores wont help me more?

Whoa that’s a weird way of calculating weighted GPAs–never seen it before.

Anyway, I wouldn’t stress about it. At this point, it’s not gonna keep you out, not gonna get you in. Spend your time focusing on essays and getting good grades this semester.

It wouldnt help me to improve them? Gradewise, I got my first B+ in AP physics C, but all other A+s and one A…is that okay?
I just really want to be as competitive an applicant as I can be

bump? thank ya!
