Should I retake SAT fourth time?

Alright, shooting for Wharton school at Penn or Duke, but SAT scores are all over the place. I was planning on not retaking SAT again, but the March administration test scores just came out and I did horribly on the writing. Anyways.

1st time: 700 CR, 710 W, 720 M 2130
2nd time: 760 CR, 770 W, 690 M 2220
3rd time: 750 CR, 670 W, 750 M 2170
SUPERSCORE: 2280

For admissions, would you recommend taking a fourth time, in May? Can I conceivably improve to 2250 single sitting? Is it worth trying? Any tips for improving the score?

Essays: 1st = 9, 2nd = 9, 3rd = 8. How do you write better essays?

Don’t–you already went down, which could look bad. Your time is better spent improving other parts of your app.

Don’t even think about taking it again. 2220 single sitting is okay. Taking it four times to get 2250 is not.
