Should I Retake SAT Subject Tests?

I took Math Level 2 and Biology in June and scored a 630 and 640. I’m thinking about retaking them in December. Would this be a good idea if the highest I think I’ll score on them is 700 in each? I will be applying to Ivy League schools. I’m not sure if those 50 or so extra points would be worth retaking for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Those scores put you in the 26th percentile and 49/28th (E/M) percentile. (https://secure-media.collegeboard.org/digitalServices/pdf/sat/sat-percentile-ranks-subject-tests-2015.pdf)

I think most Ivies just want 700+. I would retake if I was you.

To have a realistic chance at getting into ivies you’ll NEED to retake those two scores. They’re low enough to be the sole reason of your rejection (granted you’re not URM or Intel STS winner or something)

Should I take Math Level 1 just to try to get an 800? If I do not get an 800, I won’t send it. I do not have to send all subject test scores do I?

An 800 on Math Level 1 isn’t going to be easier than an 800 on Math Level 2. Also, Ivy league schools will expect you to be taking Math 2 and not Math 1.

I’ve never taken Math Level 1, but from what I’ve heard it’s just Math Level 2 without trig. Just cram these next two days and you’ll be fine. I can tell you for a fact that the scores that you have now will pull your chances down severely.

Should I take Biology E or M? I took M last time and got a 640. Does it matter which I take? My major will be focused on the molecular side.
