I took the October test and got a 2330 (800 Math, 780 CR, 750 Writing).
I got a 9 on my essay, which kinda made me mad. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with this score.

The thing is, this is my first time taking it (other than once in 7th grade, but that doesn't count). I know colleges don't like it when applicants are test freaks, retaking SAT's over and over again, even though they have monster scores.

However, since this was my first test, should I take it just once more? I'm a high school junior, by the way, so I have a little less than a year's worth of testing dates left.

One more question: do colleges take super scoring into consideration? I think they do, but I just want to make sure. What I mean by this is, for a college that acknowledges superscores for the SAT, will they also take a look at the single-sitting scores? I mean, if I get this 2330 in a single sitting, and another person superscores a 2330 over three or four tests, shouldn't mine look more impressive?

What the hell is wrong with you? You get a score that beats 99.8% of the test takers and you ask if it's good enough for an ivy? Obviously it is! Go and check the score ranges on the CB website for the schools you're applying to, and you'll see that you're fine...

I'm a junior as well and got a 2370 on the October test. Personally, I am finishing up my subject tests. Only after finishing my subject tests will I return to the SAT to try for a 2400. And thanks to score choice, if your score goes down then colleges don't even have to know. You could take it 5 times, getting a 2400 on the 5th time, and just send the 2400 to colleges. they will have no idea that you took the test more than once.

I am not making this up. There was a person who was in his high 2300 range. He retook the test and got a 2400. Because of this reason he got rejected from Yale. Yale said they were not looking for a student who is so crazy about raising couple of points. They would've preferred if he had spent his time more productively and meaningfully. Once you hit the 2300s, they are all treated the same. Don't think having 10 more points will get you into your dream school.

you guys at CC need to stop this. like honestly i don't know what to say. i'd be REALLY happy with that score..seriously. a 2300 may seem like a 1800 to you people..let's be more realistic
