I am a rising senior and I am planning to apply to the following universities for an undergraduate Computer Science major:
Harvard, Stanford, U Penn, Carnegie Mellon, Berkeley, USC, UCLA

I have taken the ACT four times.
Most recently, I scored:

Composite: 32
English: 34
Math: 36
Reading: 24
Science: 33
Writing: 7

I have taken the following SAT II Subject tests:
Math IIc: 800
Physics: 740 (planning to retake)
American History: 680 (will not retake)

I have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 5.82.

I have created a Blackberry application that provides steady revenue and a few Flash games.

I have participated in leadership in my marching band for 3 years.

My Reading has fluctuated between the 23-27 range. I will be very busy in my senior year, and I am wondering whether or not it will be worth it to retake the ACT.

Four times? I would not retake it a 5th time. I assume you have already analyzed the kind of errors you are making and are unable to address them.

You might consider taking the SAT. Some people find it makes a significant difference. Take one of the College Board’s old tests, under test conditions and see how you score - then decide if it’s worth spending any more time practicing the SAT before taking it.

It would be a waste to retake. Thus, you should assume that H, S & P won’t happen because your score is low (and retaking physics won’t help – it just makes you another STEM geek with lower lit/hume scores). Likely fine for the other colleges.

I am in the same boat as you. I got a 30 on composite but only 25 on reading. My Science, English, Math were all 31 and above too. I have taken it 3 times and I probably wont take it again because even if I do better on reading, I probably wont do as well on the other 3. My highest reading is a 27 and my lowest is a 24.
