Should I retake the ACT for USC, UCs, Accelerated Dental Programs?

Hi everyone! I’m currently a junior attending a very competitive high school in California.

I recently got my ACT score back and wanted to know if I should retake it again in April or June for:

  1. USC
  2. UCLA
  3. UCI
  4. UCSD
  5. Accelerated Dental Programs (UOP, Penn, Columbia, NYU, BU, etc.)

ACT:
Composite: 34
English: 31
Math: 36
Reading: 31
Science: 36
Writing: 23 (8/8/8/8)

Please help me out!!!

I have the same issue as you, 34 composite but 23 writing score. I am going to probably ask for a rescore on the essay considering the worst case scenario is I lose $50! How about you?

Yeah! I want to rescore my essay because I usually average 26/27s on practice essays, but I don’t know how to order the rescore.

It’s the correct link! Thank you! I think I will rescore it because I heard a lot of people had errors and weird scores!

If your score doesn’t change, would you retake the test? I’m just not sure if it’s worth it…

I’m taking the new SAT in March because the format is similar and there’s no science section! If I don’t do well on that test I will most likely retake the ACT because many schools superscore the ACT.
