Should I retake the ACT? Or get a tutor?

I recently took the ACT in June and just received my scores back for writing. The first time I took the ACT I scored a 27, then my second time I received a 26, and finally this June I got a 32. My Science section when I got a 26 was actually a 22 which I felt horrible about! As you can see I increased my science score by nearly 10 points. My problem is, however, that when I took the ACT this June I did absolutely no studying. With Finals and everything coming to an end, I really didn't have any time for practice. The only practice I did do was two days prior to the test on the 14th where I reviewed some minor material for about four hours, and then talked with a friend for any tips that they may have. With my writing I improved immensely as well, scoring a 10. I only got an 8 the first two times I took it.

I believe that my score is good enough to get into some of the colleges that I am currently looking at (with the exception of maybe Berkeley or Georgia Tech). What really makes me want to retake the ACT is that I only got 2.5 hours of sleep the night prior! I have the lingering question of how much better I could do if I could control my insomnia for the night prior! Do you think I should retake the ACT again? I was really hoping that this could be the last time I would have to sit in that room for nearly six hours! How much would a 33 or a 34 really benefit me?

ACT COMPOSITE - 32
English - 34
Math - 32
Reading - 28
Science - 32
Writing - 10

Bump!

The same thing happened to me haha, except my science improved 5 points  Since it’ll be your fourth time taking it, I think that you shouldn’t take it again, considering that you’re in the 98th percentile already with that 32. But if you really think you can do better go for it!!!

I’m sure if I studied (which I’ve never really done in a committed fashion) I could score higher, I just doubt I can get higher except for maybe a point or two! Is a 32 all that different from a 33 or 34 in admissions?

You are fine… You are in the top percentile…

How did you already get your writing score?
