Hey guys, so I just took the Act in February and I got an 8 on the ACT writing. Yeah its not the best writing score in the world but it still okay with me. So my question is that I plan on taking the ACT in june again and was wondering should I take the ACT writing again? My Feburary ACT score was not impressive and I have been studying lately for the ACT and hope to get at least a 30 in June. Will colleges namely U of M ( ann arbor) take my highest composite score and my 8 on the Feb. writing. Thanks.
You should take writing if you intend to apply to any college that requires the writing section for ACT. The fact that a college may superscore ACT tests, meaning take the highest section scores from multiple tests, does not mean they will necessarily even use an ACT w/o writing to do that if they require the writing section, i.e., they may superscore two ACT’s only if both ACT’s have writing. In other words, the first issue for which you need an answer to is whether the college will consider the ACT w/o writing at all if you also submit one with writng. Vast majority of colleges do not tell you on their sites whther they will use an ACT w/o writing if you also submit one with writing and that includes Mich; thus you will need to contact Mich for an answer unless you do take the writing section.
@drusba Thanks!
