should i retake the act?

this was my first test and my scores were
36 english
34 math
33 reading
29 science

33 composite

what are the chances that with another test i can improve those scores?

What grade are you in?

im a junior

Those scores are just...beautiful (tear). I admire your determination, but do you think it is really necessary to retake it? I think if you are truly dedicated to improving your composite, you can probably make a 34+. You have the potential to go to any school you wish.

Pat yourself on the back.
<3

I would. Your subscores only need to go up 2 total points in order for you composite to go up to a 34.

thanks for the advice

I believe your subscores need to get up 4 points, not two, for a 34 composite.

I took the ACT for the first time and got

English 34
Math 34
Reading 33
Science 31

Comp 33

For each section I got around 1-2 questions wrong (except for science), and those were probably questions where I HAD to guess. In other words, if you think you can improve your score by 4 points all around (if your goal is a 34), retake it. If not, don't bother. I am personally going to focus on the SAT, trying to get 2300+.

They only need two points to get a 33.5...which would round up to a 34.

Anyway, take it again at the end of your Senior year just to see. Near the middle of my Junior year I got a 30 but got a 32 on this last one. I think I had a 29 on the Science the first time, as well, but got a 33 on it after taking the second half of Chemistry and nearly a whole year of Physics. It's definitely worth a shot.

take it again,
my first time was a 32 composite and I retook it in april and got a 36

acutally that sounded kinda arrogant,
what i meant was, retake it if u feel that u did not do ur best the first time; otherwise, be happy with ur score. The first time i took it, i forgot my calculator so I was somewhat at a disadvantage and thus I decided to retake it.

as long as the score is at least over a 30 almost all colleges will take them

The emphasis here is almost.
