Should I retake the AP Bio Exam?

Eh, I'm really disappointed. I got straight A+s for the entire course, and even had a later testing date because I had a fever on the day of the exam; but I still only got a 4.

I studied for the class and for the exam, not a lot, but I definitely didn't just wing it.

My real question is, do you think its really worth it cancelling this score and retaking the test next may? I mean, obviously then I would have to study for it that whole time and possibly still get a 4 or even worse. I might take the Bio SAT.

For me Biology is really important for my college application, since my career route is neurobiology. I also want to get into a top undergraduate program for neurobiology, like at Harvard, Stanford, or John Hopkins.

Well, Stanford and Harvard only accepts it for placement, not credit. And Hopkins will take a 4 for credit. I mean, if it’s super important to you that you get a 5, then by all means, go ahead.

I have the same question. I’m going to be a junior. Will colleges like Harvard and Stanford look down at the fact that I took the class a sophomore and I took the AP exam as a junior?

Don’t retake it, rather strive to prove yourself in other Biology related activities, such as the IBO.

Agree with Shaggy007, a 4, although not what you’re striving for, is decent enough. Try the USABO too, or like you have already said, taking the Bio SAT. Those will show you’re competent but not obsessive.
