Thanks! Any other school suggestions would be appreciated!

If anything, I would say you need to retake your SAT I’s for at least Yale. Your SAT IIs should be fine and I wouldn’t waste time retaking them.

Ok thanks! anyone else?

bump 10char

First focus on getting your SAT I up, then if you have time retake the Chem. And Math if you are really unhappy with it, but really just bring up the Chem to the 700s.

Ya I agree. You should first retake the SAT I and then concentrate on the SATIIs.

I think you have very good ECs, so work on the test scores.

I wish it weren’t so, but standardized tests do make up somewhat of a significant part of college applications, so go for it! If you have time over the summer and are dilligent at studying, I don’t see why you can’t haul those scores up 200 points :)

Since you’ve survived Calculus (yay!) You could definitely do a better job on Math II. Having said that, you can also improve on your Math subscore, so retaking it is a great option.

Chemistry, I am a bit iffy on, since that was a killer for me, as well.

You have great ECs. Good depth, focus, and not all over the place. :)

Thanks everyone!
@samsunimomo: I actually haven’t taken calc yet…taking AP Calc next year…but still, my math scores could be much higher.

So far my testing schedule looks like this:
Sept: ACT (thought I’d try it…maybe I can get my scores up)
Oct: SAT 1
Nov: SAT 2 Math?? Should I take Chem too? Or maybe try Lit??? Since I am thinking about Yale EA, is it worth it to rush the scores?

Continuous months of testing? Ooooh, I don’t envy you. Even if you are entering Calculus this year, you’ve completed precalculus, right? You still have couple of months of time, and I definitely suggest that you retake the SATII and Chemistry, only if you think you are read for it.

Yale admissions only requires 2 SAT subjects anyway, and you have a solid US History subject score.

From personal other others’ anecdotal experience, Lit is incredibly hard, definitely harder than the AP English Language. I definitely would recommend against Lit, and focus on raising your Critical reading and writing in your SAT Reasoning.

ACT math requires higher degree of knowledge than SAT reasoning math (The difficulty is a step lower than MathII Subject) so you could be killing two birds with one stone.

Hope that helped :)

Thank you so much! I know - three months of testing is NOT going to be fun…I see you’re from Oregon! Have you graduated or do you still live here?
