Considering how much your scores have gone up, I think your 2290 is pretty impressive, and it’s certainly not keeping you out of top schools. Focus on getting 5s on APs and 800s on SAT IIs. If you can easily retake the SAT in the fall and have time to study and get a higher score, maybe go for it, but I don’t really think it’s worth your time.

Agreed, don’t take it again you already have a fabulous score.

Wow, with the caps, I almost thought you were yelling at me.

Honestly, I’d retake it one more time. You really want a 2300+. It’s gotta suck to be 10 points off :/

Don’t bother retaking. Why ruin a perfectly good Saturday morning when your score already puts you in the conversation for your schools. That score won’t keep you out of any place.

I really wouldn’t bother. You fall solidly within the “Amazing Stats Asian” category as it is. Instead of preparing for and taking the test again, try to focus on differentiating yourself from the crowd.

@Mandalorian Could you give me some examples of what “crowd” do?

Didn’t you already make a post about this? Anyways, your scores are fine. Just sit tight and wait until the Common App opens, there’s not much else you have to do. Good luck!

^ Actually the OP has made at least 3 posts about this. Not quite sure what different answer s/he’s expecting.

Kids with perfect scores get rejected all the time. 2300 or 2400 does not guarantee you entry – cast a wider net because although you have all the credentials it’s a bit of a lottery ticket. Focus on one EC and a have you held a paying part time job? This summer get a gritty job - MacDonalds, the grocery store, washing dishes…

Do something uncharacteristic, unusual and not entirely academic.

Just some ideas to get you thinking:

Do a ride along with the Police in a very rough neighborhood
Go Wingsuit Diving
Take a Bugatti Veyron to its top speed
Have a violin/viola/cello/etc battle with someone in public
Restore an old muscle car
Go to Syria and fight for Assad

^^ Thanks for everyone’s suggestions! I am considering focusing my attention on my EC’s and SAT subject/AP exams right now. If time allows, I would retake it, but SAT is not my major focus now.
@livesinnewjersey I am going to be a STEM applicant so I am thinking of focusing on science/math EC. In fact, I am starting the science honor society in my school this year. I already applied to a lot of research or computer science residential camps/internships for this summer. Hopefully I will get in one of them.
@Mandalorian I am a manga translator since I love manga and is fluent in both Chinese and English. Is that “uncharacteristic, unusual and not entirely academic” enough?

@fairyfantasy- Translation requires too much brain power. Take a Ferrari for a spin at your local racetrack instead.

@Mandalorian O.O Ehhh…I am afraid I don’t have the strong financial background required to get a Ferrari.

Mandalorian appears to be joking. :P

You can rent one for a nominal fee.
