Should I Retake the SAT or ACT?

Hi everyone, I just got my April ACT score back and I’m not sure whether I should retake the ACT or SAT. I’ve taken the SAT twice–in October I scored 1390 (720 reading, 670 math) and then 1490 in March (720 reading, 770 math). On the ACT I scored 32 (35E, 34M, 32R, 27S). I know, the science portion absolutely killed me. My goal score would either be 1530 for SAT or 34 for ACT. I didn’t study for the first SAT, and then I studied around 3-4 hours for the second SAT and the ACT each. I’m conflicted on if I should take the SAT or ACT again. I want to decide to just focus on studying one over the summer and then either taking the July ACT or August SAT. I’m wondering which one would be easier to improve? 1490 to 1530 or 32 to 34? My reading score has been stagnant on my SAT, but at the same time I have a higher SAT than ACT score. On the other hand, my ACT science subscore is way under my goal but that was my first ACT and I’m confident I can raise raise my reading subscore by at least a point. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Look at your top preferred schools and see which, if either test, they superscore. Might help you decide. I am finding that superscoring SAT only, not ACT, seems pretty common.

Okay thank you!
