Should I Retake the SAT or take Subject Tests in October?

I took the June SAT and scored a 2220.(CR-760 M-690 W-770) This was my first attempt. I plan on applying ED to Vanderbilt and they don't require subject tests but I can't determine whether or not a higher SAT score or strong subject tests would strengthen my application more.

If I did take the subject tests, they would most likely be Biology, Math 1 (maybe) and Spanish. The reason I would want to to take Spanish is because I plan on applying for the Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship and the essay prompt is:

While each student will eventually select at least one area of concentrated study, the college of arts and Science is committed to
introducing every student to a broad range of subjects. Which academic interests and/or passions might be a part of your
academic journey at Vanderbilt and why?

I plan on doing a minor in Spanish when I get to college because I think it would be very beneficial for my job in the medical field. I plan on writing my essay about this and I think a strong SAT II score in Spanish would show how passionate I am.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Also, I'm an URM (Nigerian, first generation American) if that means anything.

Although the most ideal scenario is for you to take the SATs a bit earlier so you would have time to retake things, if you want to do STEM, you probably want to level up your math SAT score. The subject tests can wait, but if VU accepts November scores, then take them as well.

@caffeinemolecule‌ Thank you! My SAT math score has been bugging me to no end. Do you think a strong score on the Math 1 subject test combined with academic rigor (enrolled in AP Calculus for senior year) would compensate, or would retaking be in my absolute best interest?

I’ve heard that math i is kinda like the sat math, and it’s definitely fine to take it. However if you were to take a subject test, I would recommend math ii since colleges think it’s harder than sat math.
