My dream school is Stanford, so I’m aiming for the top of the top, but my SAT I scores suck while my GPA is pretty good, but I didn’t take any SAT II tests yet.
SAT 1 Take 1:
Reading: 670
Math: 730
Writing: 710
SAT 1 Take 1:
Reading: 740
Math: 740
Writing: 640
So, should I retake the SAT three times?
and also do you know how possibly I could have gotten a 6 on my essay when last time I got a 10?
yes you should retake it again. im unsure that those scores can get you into stanford
I would recommend you take it one last time before next year when you begin applications (I assume you’re a Junior?) Don’t take it more than that though; plus your scores are great, besides the writing section.
That distribution is a bit icky; the 640 is unsettling. But on the bright side, many colleges look at the Critical Reading and Math sections only, so that’s good. Also, if Stanford superscores (Don’t know if it does), then your writing score will stay as a 710, unless you get higher. I would advise you to take it sometime in the fall next year, or June this year.
In regards to your essay, maybe the prompt wasn’t very tangible to suit your needs. Just keep practicing. You can master the essay in, like, a week.
