Should I retake the SAT?

I'm thinking of applying to H&SS and Tepper. The first time around, my score breakdown was- 600 M, 690 CR, 760 W, and 9 essay (76 MC), leaving me with a score of 2050. I took it again and received a breakdown of 630 M, 670 CR, 760 W, and 10 essay (74 MC). Although this was a 2060, since I hear CMU superscores, I guess they would look at that as a 2080. Is that good enough? I really had my heart set on at least a 2100 and thought I went up in CR, not down. I want to apply ED to CMU, and since the deadline is November 1, I was planning to retake the SAT II on October 1 instead of the SAT (I did not do well on those tests the first time). However, now that I have received my scores, I'm not sure which is more important. Can I get in with a 2080? Please share your thoughts. Thank you!

It really depends on how you did on the SAT II, but you could definitely get into CMU with that score. I’ve heard of people getting in with much less. It all depends on the rest of your credentials.

You’re in the range of HSS. Tepper kids usually have an average of low 700s per section.

The CR and W scores are fine but math is really low. Also, I’m not sure if they look at the writing so I’d definitely recommend a retake especially since you’re so close to a 2100, that could seal the deal.
