My top choices in the fall are going to be Stanford, Columbia, Uchicago, Cornell, and Princeton. I've heard that most schools look at your CR+Math mainly, and your writing is secondary.

On the june SAT I scored: 750CR/800M/710W
If I retake it in October, I am probably only going to improve my writing about 50-60 points. My reading this time was a total fluke.

I also have a 35 ACT 32english, 36 all the other sections.

For your info, UChicago does not use the writing section of the SAT for admission. Stanford, Columbia and Cornell do not use the essay portion. In any event, you should submit both SAT and ACT to colleges ( they will use for admission that one they believe is the higher).

Cornell doesn’t care for your Writing score, but the majority of those colleges you listed require you to send all your scores, regardless. I think you shouldn’t retake it because your ACT is so high.

It’s not my essay (10) that I’m worried about. It’s my MC, and my ACT english reflects that I’m very poor at grammar when I really should’ve done better on those sections on both tests. I feel as though I can get 770-800W on the next SAT I take, but my CR may drop 50points in the process. So is it worth the superscore to take it again?
