Should I retake the SATs?

Yes I've realized it's been asked many times before. But should I retake the SATs?

I am currently in my second year of community college. I plan on transferring to babson, bu, northeastern, and bentley. Also might possibly try for bc. In high school I hardly put any effort into my work. I received a 1590 on my SATs.

Earlier tonight I took the practice exam on collegeboard out of curiosity/boredom. I scored a 1890. With studying, I believe that I could score even higher.

However, babson and bc appear to be the only schools that require SAT scores to be submitted. With that said, I think that by submitting a score of 1900+ (assuming practice test is somewhat of an indication of the real test) would help my chances. That is if they even really take into consideration how well one does on the SATs.

Thanks

Anyone? :/

What have you got to lose?

I don’t think retaking the SAT so far into college shows much, your college record is much more important and reflective of your abilities. If you were applying to more selective colleges, I’d say you might consider it. You also have to take into account your CC gpa, is it high enough to show you can handle work at a 4 yr college or is it borderline?

I have a 3.4. I was just hoping that by improving my SAT score it would increase my chances. I had a poor high school gpa so my college gpa combined with a current SAT score would show how my work ethic has increased.
