Should I retake the SATs?

I'm a community college sophomore preparing my transfer applications. My high school GPA was abysmal (I chalked that up to "being disenchanted with systematic, standardized public education"), but I've maintained a 4.0 in college. I scored a 2160 (CR: 750, M: 630, W: 780) on the SATs in my junior year of high school. I did not take the ACT.

Several schools on my tentative list are pretty up there. From what I gather, transferring to Top Whatever schools is cutthroat as it is. I have a couple solid hooks and a few unique, longstanding extracurriculars, but I know I'll have to account for my sub-3.0 UW high school GPA.

My math score, in particular, bothers me, especially when I look at my prospective schools' average accepted scores. I won't be majoring in anything STEM or business-related (still split between English, Creative Writing, Communications, and a few others), but it still makes me a little nervous. Should I give in and give it another try? Would retaking it end up hurting me more than helping me?

Often universities have no interest in high school grades. I would check to see if yours do. They may not ask or have any space to record your high school record. Your basis of transfer is now your college record. In fact, they may not even have interest in your SAT score. You probably want to check your applications to see what the requirements ask. You are probably running up against deadlines pretty soon are you not? If not, you could use score choice, and send only the best SAT score.

But, as you know, your scores are already very respectable.
