Hey guys, I just got my ACT score today, and I'm not completely satisfied with it. Therefore, I'm planning on retaking the multiple choice section in october.
Should I take the writing section again (let's just say I get a decent score on it) or just send colleges my best attempt on ACT along with a separate writing score?

No, take the ACT with writing. Pretty much no colleges accept the scores without the writing section.

I don’t believe you can separate a writing score from the composite score. Let’s say you get a 29 composite with a 10 writing (I believe it’s out of 12, right?). You could not just retake get a 34 and take the 10 on the writing. If you submit the 34, you would have no writing score according to the school. At least that is my understanding of how this works. Basically, you have to retake the writing with it.

Definitely take the writing each time to be safe.

You can send in your score with writing and your new score w/o writing. But there are schools that don’t accept that.

Thanks guys. I will surely take the one with writing.

check with the particular schools you are interested in. i did and the answer i got was if you are satisfied with your current writing score, no need to take the writing again.

Section*

You should review your spelling book. . .

Oops, that was a typo. I didn’t even notice it until now.
Oh well, I don’t think I can change it anyway.
ARGH…it’s driving nuts…I’m a perfectionist.

:P
sok, it happens to everyone.
