If I'm aiming for mid Ivies like Columbia or UPenn how badly does a 720 in chem and a 680 in us history look? I already have two other subject tests that are very good, so how would these two look?

these two wouldn’t look half bad. they’re actually good. you did great in chem, and although there’s a 40 point difference between chem and us history, im pretty sure your other scores will overlook us history.

you know many people would die to have those scores? i wish i were you.

well the chemistry looks very good, considering that you can get one wrong and drop to 780, so I wouldn’t risk taking it, but the us history i think is a bit low for the ivies, cuz i have a friend who got 800 in us history, 800 chem, 800 physics, and 5’s in ap physics, chem, us history, but he still didn’t get accepted into stanford or mit w/ 97 average, lots international recognition EC’s… but i wouldn’t worry too much just over the one

that’s stanford and mit though.

i’d say its pretty fine. it’s not going to be a HUGE factor in your application so I wouldn’t sweat it too much.

You might want to retake the us history one, ONLY if you have time.
Don’t lose your hair over it, op.

^ i agree with sofie. if you have the time and you really want to retake us history, but its not worth it to retake chem. Thats a good score. The us history score, if you decide to keep it wont hurt you that much. Plus you said you have 2 other good higher SAT IIs so its fine. good luck

i wish i was you, i got a 600 on ush and 650 in math2… quit bein a bltch

listen to iverson stop being a whiney ***** who thinks 680 is a bad score stupid *******

^ Actually he has every right to ask about retaking a 680. While a 680 is certainly a decent/good for average schools its not for Columbia or UPenn. Just because you got “low” scores, doesn’t mean someone else is whining because they ask if their somewhat higher scores are worrisome.
